Millions of people with diabetes rely on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) marketplaces and will soon be able to enroll for 2027 health care coverage. But recent federal policy changes mean this year’s open enrollment period comes with new challenges.

Join Georgetown University’s Center on Health Insurance Reforms (CHIR) and Families USA for a webinar that breaks down what to expect for the upcoming ACA open enrollment period and how to help patients get ready. Audience Q&A will follow the discussion.

Speakers include:

  • April Gutmann, Senior Manager, Government Affairs and Policy, Diabetes Patient Advocacy Coalition
  • Amy Killelea, JD,  Assistant Research Professor, CHIR (moderator)
  • Carrie Matuzsan, LSW, Case Manager, Blue Circle Health
  • Moiz Mohsin, patient
  • Jennifer Sullivan, Senior Policy Advisor, Insurance Markets and Regulation, Families USA

Participants will learn the implications of recent legislative and administrative shifts including:

  • Rollbacks to consumer health protections
  • Reductions in coverage options
  • Changes to subsidies and cost increases

Support for this webinar is provided by The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust through a grant to Georgetown University to advance access to high quality, affordable diabetes care through private health insurance regulation.
