For-profit entities are buying up health care practices and insurers, and corporate strategies aimed at maximizing revenue have become commonplace in our hospitals and doctor’s offices. This corporatization has directly contributed to skyrocketing health care costs, double-digit premium increases, lower quality care, and rising consumer medical debt.

Join Georgetown’s Center on Health Insurance Reforms for a policy briefing to discuss the impact of corporatization on costs and quality and explore bipartisan solutions that could make health care more affordable, including how policymakers can help curb problematic practices, such as overcharging, anti-competitive contracting, consolidation and private equity ownership.

The event will include opening remarks from Senator Roger Marshall (R-KS). Audience Q&A will follow the discussion.
